Meet the winners
C4G as a founding member of the Network of Social Responsibility of the organizations - RSO.pt - considers all initiatives to combat poverty. Participation in the drawing competition "Fighting against poverty" and its "small" actors "off" number makes you think that the goals set for this fight are possible to achieve.
About 50 000 children from eight to ten years old from 61 countries in Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Pacific, Latin America, Mediterranean, Middle East and the eastern neighbors of the EU expressed its view in a drawing on the theme of equality men and women - and girls and boys, women and men together can make the world a better place. The designs will be displayed between 9 and 26 November 2010 in Brussels.

Since launching the contest on International Women's Day, March 8, 2010, the Commission received 26 080 designs by 49 709 children in 1641 schools and community centers. Were involved in 61 EU delegations in six world regions. Over 600 designs were selected and sent to Brussels, where they underwent their final selection. The 14 overall winners were selected by a jury of 50 children of the European School of Brussels I.

Apart from its originality, creativity and artistic quality, the winners were selected according to their ability to express a strong message and relevant to the context of their country. As in previous events, the designs embody the hope, at the same time which testify to a reality sometimes difficult. Most children involved in the competition have a history of social and human condition extremely difficult, for example in Afghanistan, and often express through their drawings the harsh reality of daily life, depicting scenes of war and the anguish and pain caused by this.
The drawing competition, which is organized for the fourth consecutive year, allowed to mobilize and sensitize children and adults around the question of equality between men and women. It also allowed the EU Delegations start the debate at an institutional level through the involvement of national and local authorities in planning and conducting the contest, thus enhancing their ownership.
